A Duty of Gratitude


Vincent Van Gogh, in one of over 900 letters to his brother Theo. I learned, by way of this heart-throbby BBC docudrama, that he was once a lay preacher to coal miners in the Borinage of Belgium, and only began painting in his late 20s.
